Well then

There are 3 reasons why you might be here.

You want to learn how to make chainmaille. In this case you should start with my basics guide. Or you saw one of my crossbow guides perhaps? Or you simply like awesome stuff of which I am a capable provider even if I say so myself. In this case, the popular posts section is a good start. This blog(and me) is very much active and I'd gladly help you out if you have question and so on. You can find me at email: bogy_shashav@abv.bg or skype: bogy_shashav

And its done, Drunkethics has its own facebook page.

 http://www.facebook.com/pages/Drunkethics/312039762144830

Still nothing there though, but that will be fixed in time. Now the facebook button in the top right won't be just for show since I patched the html as well. Back to the pliers and coils it is then.

Going on Facebook soon.

Up to now, I've been using my personal facebook page to promote this blog, but I think the point has been reached when it needs  one of its own, so in the coming week I will try to get it done., its not exactly rocket science after all.

Sir Fluffy 2 Electric Bugaloo

Right, so I remade the coif - it looks much better than the old one and its a matching outfit now. Also gave him a nail sword.

Overall the first micromaille I am honestly proud of.  I mean come on - he is awesome :) .

Sir Fluffy

He will defend your honor and your key chain with his life!

"I shall poke thee in the eye knave!"

Back.

Armor is completely removable.

Ready for battle!

Facing a mighty beast(ok this one turned bad, dog refused to cooperate)

Right, I will probably remake the coif, I don't like this one, but I ran out of the smallest links. I need to resupply again, I never had many in the first place, I just bought 1 small pack of each type.

A fit of RAGE

Ye verily I am enRAGEd ladies and gentlemen, very enRAGEd indeed. I don't think I have the words to describe the RAGE within me. The reason of course is, that I fell for Carmack's ruse and tried this game. Its been a while since I had to force myself to soldier on to the finish. Because RAGE...well, RAGE lacks it. It has several strokes of genius that put a smile of my face and ten tons of mediocre content which did not. The technical issues practically made it impossible to play for more than 1-2 hours at best before my eyes were VERY tired. Texture popping everywhere. I don't care how pretty it is if  90% of people can't enjoy it but its the first thing that greeted me and was my companion throughout the game along with an increasing amount of RAGE. Combat is good though. I liked it, fast paced, multiple weapon choices and options, hero carries a wardrobe of guns like in the good ole days. The story, the world, the characters, the player options and so on, I give the honoured rating of "Fallout for babies". Enough said. No open world - RAGE is a corridor shooter, no dialogue options, no choices, no names, no nothing. In fact, I think it would have been better if they'd stuck with classic shooter only. The attempt to delve in the other genres has failed so bad, that RAGE is pretty much a tech demo for id's new engine, but not much else. Its also absurdly short for its size. You can zip right through in half a day of casual play. The ending is also completely unsatisfying and way too easy. I ordered an awesome boss battle and all I got was a quick fire fight which was made effortless by the last gun you get(No spoilers here. Let's say the combined two all time favourites in one)

A glimmer of hope however, is the above mentioned fact that combat feels good. That means Multi-player might wipe off the shame but I would not guarantee it.

On the art of chainmaille - Well, I suppose it could be called a copper puppy

Right so I was fiddling today with basic orbitals, pretty much trying to see if I can do something out of it when eventually I got this result - A chainmaille puppy, or at least a reasonably unidentifiable quadruped  which i can call however I like.

Curious.

Sitting and looking up.

Sitting and looking down.

Sad.

Standing(side view)

I will probably tinker with the basic design a bit more. There is obviously room for improvement :)

On the art of chainmaille - making a coif part 5

Finally, its done, can't let my studies get in the way of armor making can we? The mantle piece can be made in many ways or not at all(if you want to attach the coif to a chainmail shirt norman style) In this case I used strips of 4in1 with expanding rows.

Look from above

Its a fairly short one, just enough to cover the neck, but you can stretch is afar as the shoulders if needed.

(Finally) Both good and bad news on the edicational front

First - the good news. My lecture in  criminal procedure law (don't mix it with criminal code - that's the sets the different types of crimes, responsibility, liability and their respective punishments - the first is the actual ways of implementing them - from the police investigation, through courts and trial and eventually, verdict.) was moved from Saturday to Monday. That means - Yay FREEDOM! on Saturday, because seriously, nobody likes lectures on Saturday, especially if there is a hangover involved in this.

Buuuuut there is a bad side. Monday was my only day with only 1 thing on the program. Now, I don't have a time window big enough to go and work in that lawyer's firm, so basically my finances for the 1st semester lost one major source. No fun having free time on Saturday and no money for beer.

Random thoughts

Now, Liata's commentary on the celtic stars got my gears running a bit. Why does it all have to have a specific purpose? Why does it have to be set in stone, this is done because of that and that? I mean, why do people everywhere do it? From music, to painting, sculpture, singing, writing and so on? Its because they can. Creativity is its own purpose. It is its own reward to. You don't ask why the wind goes, nor why rivers run. If something can be done it WILL be done simply because we can.

Pseudo-philosophic rant over.

I got another thing in mind. Now, while I can keep on making stuff for a long long time, I'm open to ideas. That is - yes, I might take on requests for something small to make. Chainmaille is like lego, with enough experience(and enough experiments) you can do almost anything .

On the art of chainmaille Stars - craft 2

Am I doing it rite?

Ok, disregarding the horrible pun - a pair of modified Celtic stars. Made em during lectures in the university today. Nice design, not too difficult, I just changed it a bit. Might do a instructional video about it later on. Used gold and copper plated links.

On the art of chainmaille - Another Mark of Nurgle

I couldn't resist the temptation really. ^^ Anyway, took barely a minute, since its of far more agreeable size that does not require a microscope. Actually this one could go on a pendant or something. Here it is, with the small one from yesterday for comparison.

(as said before I do not own any of GW's IT.)

On the art of chainmaille - Miniatures are fun.

Ok, they are not easy, my eyes tend to hurt after that, but Mini's are simply enjoyable to make.

And before I forgot...all praises to Papi Nurgle...

(I don't own Warhammer or Wh40k IT, it was made for my own personal enjoyment.)
